Worcester Central School is located in the picturesque Leatherstocking region of New York State in Otsego County.

The district is committed to educational excellence and has high expectations for students and staff. Worcester Central School provides quality education programs geared to students of all levels of academic potential and interest. Numerous electives in English, local history, sociology, psychology, home economics, and technology are also offered. The student/faculty ratio provides an opportunity for teachers to give personal attention to the education and personal needs of students. The Otsego Area Occupational Center in Milford offers a wide variety of programs in career and technical education, special and alternative education, and adult and continuing education for interested students.

 

Worcester Debate Team Wins!!!

 

The Worcester Speech & Debate Team hosted its first tournament at the school on Saturday, January 23rd.  7 schools attended - three from Pennsylvania as well as Worcester, Unatego, Walton, and Mt. Markham.  The Worcester team won two first, one second , and two third place trophies.  The school teams are members of the National Forensic League and compete locally in the Iroquois League, which covers parts of New York, Pennsylvania, and Vermont.  The Worcester team is in its third year of competition and is coached by Mrs. Sydney Scalici, WCS Guidance Counselor.  Students in 7th through 12th grades are eligible to become members.  There are currently 10 members on the team: Francis Grunfeld, Kyle Norton, Victoria Mowers, Cody Norton, Olivia Kenison, Katherine Kenney, Alyssa Christman, Sarah Evans, Brittaney McLish, and Stephanie Hallahan.
